Wonthaggi Secondary boys take over Inverloch beach for the BASE Boys Surf Tour Presented by Play It Safe By The Water.
12th Feb 2009

The BASE Boys Surf Tour took over Inverloch main beach today to take the boys from Wonthaggi Secondary College surfing.
Regardless of the small and onshore surf the boys were pumped to get in the water and catch a few waves.
World Qualifying Series surfers Adam Robertson (Portland) and Jack Perry (Jan Juc) were on hand to give the boys a few tips in the water and get a few waves with the boys.
The boys are taught how to rescue injured surfers and swimmers. They are also given knowledge about being safe in a water environment, as part of the Victorian Governments water safety initiative “Play It Safe By The Water”.
After a quick warm up, the boys were straight into the water to show off their skills and get some tips in the water.
A Tag-team eevent was also run with the boys allowing them to get some valuable competitive experiences.
The BASE Boys Surf Tour now moves to its final stop at the world famous beach of Woolamai on Phillip Island.
BASE Boys Surf Tour is a skill development program aimed at boys who have passed through the “learn to surf stage” and has the ability to ride and unbroken wave.
Experienced WQS (World Qualifying Series) surfers Adam Robertson and Jack Perry will be joining the tour to hand on valuable knowledge the boys. Being able to surf with 2 of Victorias most successful surfers is a priceless opportunity and is not to be missed.

The sessions are free to all boys and will include a talk on surf safety, how to perform a beach rescue and a free surfing session with Adam and Jack.
