Good Luck Lord Munro

Good Luck Lord Munro

Luke Munro finished last year on the WQS in 6th place after an up and down year and as a result, qualified for the premium tour this year. I dropped off a few new sticks for him this morning and asked him what the highlights of last year’s slog were. Without question he retorted “Becoming a Lord in Scotland “ Apparently Ist and 2nd at the Thurso WQS contest (Luke got second) were awarded a Lordship for 300 years and a small symbolic piece of land in the highlands. The title allows him to hunt, fish and generally pillage the landscape until his heart’s content. He reckons that the trout fishing is epic and will definitely be packing a fly rod next trip. Said he might pass on the bull elk.

Don’t know what it is with this soft cock Gold Coaster where his best successes are in the most bitterly cold locations like Scotland and Northern California. Big plus for his west suits sponsor and in fact it was in Santa Cruz that Munners finally sealed a birth on the WCT with a 2nd place at the O’Neil Cold Water Classic. Perhaps the second biggest highlight ventured Luke, was after that placing and the realization that he was finally through; the decision to bolt down to Vegas with the infamous bar fly Paul Fisher to celebrate his relief. Enough said!

Luke has been back on my team the last 6 months and has settled back in real easy since we have a long history with equipment development so I know what his needs are generally. Needless to say I am looking forward to working more closely this year since his draw will be considerably easier than it was in his first year on the WCT where he was drawing the top seeds all year round. So well done Luke, come out swinging !  Muzz
