The Fat Bullet Continues to Impress

Murray Bourton's recent creation the 'Fat Bullet' appears to be the newest craze. We just can't make enough of them. Murray is known for pushing the boundaries with his design and it appears he has really hit the nail on the head with this one.

Murray has been experimenting with quad fins for a long time now and has proven successful with a number of models. Recently he has introduced a cathedral hull under  the nose of the boards. The Hull is designed to create lift in the front half of the board and makes it twice as forgiving with forward rail catching or pearling. In addition it increases the paddle power two fold with its hydrodynamic lifting action allowing the paddler to position further forward even though there is reduced nose lift. The forward planning encourages early entry which is what is lacking in shorter boards in general.

Just recently at US Open Huntington Beach, the Fat Bullet caught a lot of people's attention. The refined outline, volume and intriguing hull created a lot of excitement particular with the Summer conditions of the US East Coast.

At present we just keep up with the orders for the Fat Bullet, have a read of what one of Murray's Fat Bullet customer had to say about his new board:

Dear Murray;
My name is Chris Mainsbridge & I came to you at the beginning of the year & asked for your advice on an “allrounder” that you could create.
You suggested the fat bullet ( although you didn’t have a name for the design at that stage )
Well Murray I bought one & promised I would write & let you know how it goes. It has taken a while to get back to you as I am in a little bit of trouble & need your advice.
You see once I got used to the board I can’t seem to get off it.
Now this might not seem to be a bad thing but I can assure you my life has totally changed.
You see I have 3 other boards  A fish; a HP thruster & a Longboard.
I have no interest in these boards anymore & I can assure you they are all very upset.
They have even turned their backs on me & are just facing the wall.
My beautiful wife is even feeling the strain & wants me to take up golf as my 2hr sessions are now turning into 3 even 4 hr’s & sometimes twice a day.
This board is so easy to paddle & even has hull like handles to grip when duck diving.
This board goes so fast sometimes it blows me away. Once I found the sweet(G) spot the board just turns for me with gay abandon.
It has even got me barreled at the Pass & up & down the Gold coast; which I can assure you never happened with my other boards.
I only wanted an all-rounder but you have given me an only rounder.
I am off to the Maldives soon & know deep down inside that this will be the only board I will ride over there.
Murray please help me; I need to share my love around again;
Have you any advice
Chris.
