DHD - Team Rider Update - Bells Prep
6th Apr 2009

Darren Handley is well known for the strength of the relationships he has with his team riders and the amount of work that goes into putting the right equipment under their feet. When working with professional surfers it is never a completed project even if they have won the World Title. It is a constant work in progress hence the importance of a close surfer/shaper relationship.
Since the excitement of the Snapper Pro has left town DH has been busy in the bay getting his teams equipment ready for them to tackle Bells, starting this week. You may also have recently caught DH pulling into some kegs out at Kirra (testing his shapes of course).
Darren and his team will be constantly finetuning their equipment and refining it for each location throughout the year. It would be unusual to make a dramatic change mid way through the course of the tour. It is more likely that small design elements will be slightly tweaked closer and closer to perfection as the year goes on and the tour moves from location to location.
DH had some great results with his team riders at the Snapper Pro, with Steph Gilmore taking out Roxy Pro. Adriano De Souza finished second to Parko. Mick Fanning put on a great display of barrel riding against Parko in the semi. Also Dh and Bobby Martinez had a lot of fun over that period working on the soon to be released 'Bobby Monster'
