Bourton Shapes "THE HIGH PERFORMANCE QUAD"
THE HIGH PERFORMANCE QUAD
This quad is a product of quad evolution that was always headed toward putting them under the feet of those hallowed ones. If a board does not have a vertical capacity then they don’t want to know about it.
A narrower nose, more tail area and curve in planshape as well as tail rocker will send a board more vertical and this basically describes the new HPQ.
The back half of the board has a much deeper single to double concave which runs through the front fin area and then about 4 inches from the tail dramatically drops into a 3 ml vee which really helps that last minute direction change off the top.
The quads are situated a little further back on the tail to also encourage a more off the tail vertical approach not forgetting that 4 fins sitting in a deep single double concave are gonna have considerable launch capability.
The standard quad is a speed driver and the HPQ is a wippet in the pocket - the best way to explain their difference. The choice of fins will be a personal one as is the norm but it stands to reason the bigger the guy the bigger the trailer fins.
If any quad designs are going to attract the radar of some of the pros then this one should.
