THE INSPIRATION SERIES
The Inspiration Series is an honest response
to all the pro models that seem to be appearing
on the market lately. Many are just a marketing tag and nothing
like the guy is riding at the time and many attempt to offer
different sizes for bigger customers and that’s where
the design becomes even more obscure.

To be true to the concept this series delivers
an exact replica of what Troy Brookes
is riding at this very point in time.
In fact as they evolve so will their models . It is great
to be directed by these guys and watching their equipment
grow more sophisticated board by board and then to be able
to pass this on to those who are truly inspired by what they
are doing on the face of a wave.
The range will cover from 5'11 to 6'1 which really aims
at those younger guys who are more influenced by the pros
and what they are riding . I cannot see the point
in scaling these designs up for bigger guys since they are
not as interested so the concept works perfectly for these
3 important lengths.
The young guns get their fair share of publicity in the media
however these models inshore also act as reinforcement to
the cutting edge stuff that I am into and who is riding it.
GLASSING
Obviously the customer for these models will be paying a
lot more than the team so the glass work has to be
stronger but still needs to be light
otherwise the very essence will be lost. The team are riding
4 x 4 diagonal with a 4 ply stringer with carbon flaps
on the tail to keep the rail edges in the tail intact.
The models are glassed with 6 oz zero x 90 on the deck with
a 4oz diagonal bottom and also with the 4 ply stringer that
is no heavier but heaps stronger. The carbon
flaps and the 6oz deck make the deck stronger than the team
weight and only slightly heavier. Perhaps the other slight
difference is that the models will be offered with FCS
rather than set fins more commonly asked for by the boys.
In fact if they were not so spooked by the massive choice
in FCS fins they would probably love e’m.

Model: Brooko Round Tail Quad |
AT LAST... a quad that does what a pro surfer wants. It has been a long time coming, for me as a designer at least! Perhaps naively I thought the round tail would be too loose as a quad and would lack reach and drive but in fact I was underestimating what guys at this level can do with a design like this. I have been building thrusters for guys at this level forever but I was mindful not to upset their status quo i.e. experimenting with far left designs can fuck with the sub conscious reflexes already finely tuned to the three fin attack.

Model: Inspired by Troy Brooks |
Since Luke Munro has been influenced by
Troy Brook's boards of late, the designs
have evolved to become very similar. This design
is a stretch of Luke Munro's except for a little
later flip in the nose . The rail thickness
is a bee’s dick thinner but the bottom shape
is identical. All the decks on the Inspiration
Series boards are slightly veed which runs
into a box shoulder rather than a rolled
deck, this enables you to have a small
box rail but not too much more foam under the palm.
This board would suit those from 70 to 75kgs who
want plenty of freedom on the face and speed
under the front foot.

and will no doubt evolve away from each other in the future.
